Background

Ghana as many other African Countries has suffered its fair share of challenges in attracting international investments for inclusive sustainable industrial development.

The Government of Ghana acknowledges that investing in infrastructure and innovation are crucial drivers of economic growth and development and therefore, to complement efforts to achieving SDG 9 (‘Industry Innovation and Infrastructure’) and advancing towards the objectives of the Third Industrial Development Decade for Africa (IDDA III), proclaimed by the UNGA in 2016, the Government of the day has outlined a 10-point agenda of industrial transformation. Against this background CEDECOM conscious of the fact that the Central Region must creatively take advantage of such policies

This session will draw from a dynamic panel of experts, to explore new methods of attracting investments into the Central Region’s manufacturing sector to strengthen productive capacity development. The prospects and role of industrial policy and industrial will also feature prominently in the discussions.

It is anticipated that the outcome of the discussion will strategically and positively influence policy makers and entities involved in policy analysis, technical assistance and resource mobilization.
